Office Trip to Kuala Selangor

I went to Kuala Selangor on 18th-20th Jan 2008 with my colleagues for our weekend getaway. It is a small town about one and half hour from Kuala Lumpur. Below is pix of the town :

We arrived around 6pm, went straight to Bukit Melawati. If you go there on weekends, you can take the "trem " as pix above at RM4.00 per pax (if I'm not mistaken), but since we came on Friday, we had no choice to walk up the hill. It take only 5 minutes to go up, but we took longer as there were toilet stops, scenery stops, photo session stops like pix below :

This is pix of the challet we stayed at De Palma Inn. Not bad. The rooms are small, but very cozy. Brand new, very spacious, very nature, bangun pagi boleh dgr bunyi burung-burung buat choir. Price on weekdays is RM100, weekend can go up to RM120-RM130. They also have family challet which can accommodate up to 5 pax, and also honeymoon challet (my boss took that one, hehehehe)

This is us on 2nd night, before makan-makan BBQ. BBQ kat luar, but we ate in air-cond room, BBQ ape tu? They should have organised it at the pool side. But food was good, and variety. And knowing us, licin habis semua.

This is me with my darling Eddy Toh. One of the guys who I always talk about in this blog. The day he is not around, my day at work mesti tak fun. I depend on him for my lunch. If dia beli Mc Donald, so I will eat fatty food, the day he buys me Nasi & sayur saje, I cannot complaint.

(Update : Eddy Toh's father passed away on 1st February 2008 leaving him with his only sister. He cried when he called me that night, I just hang-on for at least 10 minutes consoling him, few of my colleagues including big boss went to see him at Hospital that night, I went to visit him on Sunday. His father died on his lap at home. He took 2 weeks off, but now he is back at work, and feeling better. The late Mr Toh will call me from time to time asking how Eddy is doing at work, is he creating problems or not, is he eating junk-food or not. Eddy's younger sister is normal and is doing well in her life, they are staying together now while she takes over most of her late father's task to take care of Eddy with help from uncles & aunts. We at office will continue our support for Eddy)

Ini jumpa dekat kedai depan Pasar Penambang Kuala Selangor. Tak tau lah ni apa benda, but it was for sale.

The pasar we went on Sunday morning before check-out and balik. I bought prawns, ikan terubuk, and ketam. Well cooked and yummy habis within the next few days. Makan dekat office.

I had fun. Thanks to Jun who organised it very well. First day we went to Bukit Melawati, then dinner at one of the seafood restaurant tepi Kuala. Then we went to see Fireflies. Price at RM12 per person. I was in same bot/perahu/sampan with Loga, Bhanu and Helen. Bhanu ni dari India, so dia memang excited lah tengok fireflies/kelip-kelip. I pun, hehehehe. Terasa aman damai atas bot tu, takde cahaya except the moon lights and no sound except kayuhan sampan and bunyi cengkerik. If sesape nak pegi, go after 9pm, the close at 1030pm, but go masa hujung bulan. Time full moon baru best tengok.

The next day, Saturday, (after liat nak bangun as most of us stayed-up untill 3am berborak and played cards), we had full day session of brainstorming. We are set to reach this year's target, and big boss promise 4 bulan bonus kalau achieve (current 2 bulan aja). So, my colleagues yg dok buang masa baca my blog ni, sila pergi buat kerja sekarang! Jangan curi tulang!! :)

Habis sessi brainstorming at 645pm, myself, eddy, cristina, hooipeng and abigail terjun mandi pool. Lepak around 40 minutes, then balik bilik pray and get ready for dinner. Dinner was good, we had karaoke. I was surprised to see how many OIAM potential within my colleagues. I sang 2 songs. After singing and dancing session, we lepak kat depan challet, Andrew brought his guitar and entertained us with few songs, and we sang along.

Sunday pagi, after breakfast we went marketing, then singgah this place jual ikan masin. I borong sakan ikan masin kuran, gelama, and also belacan. We arrived KL around 2pm.

All of us had good time, a lot of laughing and games played in the bus, and we did get to know each other a bit more. Kalau fun macam tu kat office hari-hari kan best? Hmm... perhaps not, nanti kerja tak siap. But I can see some changes towards work attitude nowadays. Hope it stays.

I would definately recommend kuala selangor for family trip, office trip. It is near-by, cheap and cozy.
