MELAKA BANDARAYA BERSEJARAH

Last nite I was discussing with friends about exciting places to getaway for holiday. One of them mentioned about doing a weekend trip to Melaka.

I was in Melaka for few years back in 1988-1990. My dad was posted there for 1 year before transferred to Bahau. I stayed back as I wanted to finish my SRP examination. So, 1988-1989 I was staying at 46, Taman Perkota, Melaka (the pink house is still there as at last year!!!) , then at Girls Hostel, MGSH, Durian Daun.

Melaka was a very small town back in the 90s, but it has become a very big n busy city now.

Yang BEST dulu :

- Sunday morning family outing. Babah will wake us up for Subuh, then to Bukit China, jogging. I was always the last to finish, hehehehe. Then we will either lepak at Bandar Hilir for breakfast or tapau roti canai n mkn at home. The nasi lemak kat corner lot of warung kat Bandar Hilir tu very yummy, but now dah tak dak. The place has been torn down for new development.

-After School Cendol. Every Wednesday, after my school activities, pergi mkn cendol with Babah n Ayong kat Bandar Hilir. The cendol stall is still there. Depan Stadhuys Building (ala yg colour merah tu!!)

-Hutan Rekreasi Ayer Keroh. Asal weekend je lepak sini with my school friends. Camping la, jungle trekking la, picnic la, cari ilham buat lagu la. Kitorang practise for school drama pun kat sini.

-Mini Malaysia Ayer Keroh. Asal relatives, friends or visitors datang dari KL, mesti pergi sini. Rasa sekarang lagi besar kut...

-MGHS. Malacca Girls High School. Ini memang byk kenangan. Kena denda waktu perhimpunan sebab buat bising tu selalu kena, hehehehe. Time tinggal hostel, I will be the only one in my class where Puan Rohana(our guru disiplin) to sign my monthly report. Nasib baik cemerlang kat sekolah. Baik 1p1, 2a, 3a, dlm kelas tak duduk ngan melayu. Kiri kanan budak Cina. Mana la pergi si YAP LING LING tu? Dia tolong siapkan homework Sains, I tolong siapkan homework Sejarah. Kat hostel pun seronok jugak.


Yang BEST Sekarang :

-Hotelier. RM70.00 per room per night. Dapat Double bed, very-very clean toilet!!! Ada hot shower. Tilam n bantal best!!! Tv ada astro!! In the city, nearby Mahkota Parade, (near Seri Costa hotel at Jalan PM).

-Mahkota Parade. Macam-macam ada. This is where I hang out everytime waiting for Agus to finish his work on Saturday. Movie? Bowling? Shopping? Kopibin? Makan2? Name it. You want western ka? japannese ka? malay food ka? fast food ka? mamak ka? chinese ka? semua ada. I love going into all shops and discover their stock clearence item. Mesti ada benda mau beli. Kalau takdak duit, suruh orang beli kan, hahahaha.

-Duyong. Before this kalau makan mesti pergi Umbai. Tapi sejak tau this place, hmm... the ikan bakar, yum-yum. It is on the way to Umbai, from Melaka town about 15 min. Ada big signboard tulis DUYONG, turn right, n masuk dalam. You will no be dissapointed.

-Riviera Resort. Karaoke best sini. Swimming pool pun best sini. Morning breakfast pun best sini. Petang2 lepas kan tensen best, angin kuat kat pantai!!!

-McDonald Ayer Keroh. Lepas toll, heading to city, on your right, before Mini Malaysia. Tak tau apa yang buat best kat sini. Tapi mesti singgah everytime ke Melaka.

-CUCUR UDANG ALOR GAJAH. Ish, ni nanti buat posting khas pasal benda ni... SEDAP SIOT!

-Zoo Melaka. Kat sini best sbb ada my good old friend, JAWAHIR....

Actually byk lagi tempat2 menarik, tapi nanti lah disclose, nanti Wahir marah sbb pegi sana selalu, tapi tak jumpa dia, hahahaha. Takpe, dont worry. Will make sure before end of 2005, one trip to Melaka is ON!


(Hmm..... dah lama tak pergi Melaka.... rindu la pulak kat tempat2 disana N kat orang2 nyer gak... hmm....)

Posting lain besok lah pulak. 2-3 hari ni, internet asyik down lah. Dah banyak draft semak dlm mailbox tu...

30 DAYS to 30 YEARS

Alamak, dah nak masuk 30? Hmm...

So far am satisfied with my life, syukur pada Allah. But there are lots of thing need improvement. Bukan nak komplen, but could have done better. Banyak ups n downs nyer... tapi so far survived...

Kerja ok, makan-minum cukup, keta??? bila nak tukar ha, September nanti lah, panjang que booking. Gaji??? Nanti2 dia naik lagi. Life partner?? - bukan rezeki tahun ni. Don't worry kawan2, dah tak fobia nak tunggu bulan 8 tahun ni. Dah ok dah. Thank you for all the support.

Bulan 8 every year mesti busy, tahun ni busy lagi ka kawan2? Dah tua lah. Seperti biasa, book awal2 ha. Sure penuh appointment book tu nanti. 6th August dah taken, hehehe. (don't worry, PAROE pun kena buat appointment bulan 8 nanti, hehehe. Paroe jgn marah aa.... nanti kena jual...sementara ada saya gang nak sakat awak nihhh....)

Ok, hari ni banyak kerja. KORANG TU JANGAN ASYIK BERTENGGEK KAT TAGBOARD TU... kat opis, kerja lah.... and mulai hari ni tolong tukar topik, nanti tagboard tu kena banned baru korang tahu. Thank you.

KENDURI CUKUR JAMBUL BABY

Last Saturday I went to kenduri cukur jambul anak my friend : RAY N IZA.

Baby, Muhammad Arfan bin Abu Firdaus. Sejak2 lahir bulan Jun dulu Aunty Aida tak pergi pun jenguk tengok, kalau tak pergi kenduri tu, sah kena laser ngan mak dia yg SINGA GARANG tu. Hehehehe.

Kenapa orang melayu buat cukur jambul? Menjaga adat? I rasa younger generation sekarang tak faham adat tu.... and selalu nyer atuk n nenek yg suruh buat. (Itu apa yg most of my friends said, Iza n Ray : I lupa tanya pulak kat korang, heheheh). Kalau kerabat raja, akan ada acara jejak tanah. Selalu nyer kenduri utk baby hiasan sama mcm buat kenduri kahwin.... dgn bajunya, katilnya, bunga telur untuk tetamu. Itu rasa takpe, asal cukup budget sudah lah.

Satu yang I noticed, kalau lelaki yg marhaban, mesti laju je habis, tapi kalau team perempuan, haha, kalau tak makan dulu, silap lah, mesti lama kena tunggu baru makan. Hahaha, Tapi the kenduri after that yang I selalu tunggu, apa lagi, MAKAN TIME!!!

But last Saturday's kenduri was fun. Best part is "meeting the friends" punya agenda. Orang marhaban, kita sibuk chit-chat and updates. Lepas lah rindu kat FARHAN, FAREEN n SHASHA n their mommies n daddies. NOT FORGETTING, the SINGLE AUNTIES too. Too bad, uncle sorang tu takde lah pulak, hahaha.

Have missed lots of kenduri cukur jambul lately, sorry ye kawan2. Alasan yang diberi, jawapan standard : BUSY - entah apa la yg busy sgt tu.

HARIZ n ARISYA punya kenduri cukur jambul pun tak pergi. Apa punya Mak Ngah da.... (itu ayah korang selalu silap timing, buat time mak ngah over the sea....)

Adat tu penting, sebagai ingatan manusia bertemadun, n agenda merapatkan silaturrahim....

episode 1 : KUAY TEOW

I am not a kuay teow lover, but lately crazy craving for kuay teow at Seksyen 27, Shah Alam.

Sedap!!! Especially kuay teow kering. Sekali order mesti 2 pinggan terus, hehehe. Air mesti lah teh o ais limau.

I usually go with my ANSERIANs. Then will end up with kopi at our president's house. Yang buat sedap tu the chef will cook on the spot and serve it hot-hot. Ada udang, kerang, taugeh, MMMM.... yum-yum.

HOW TO GET THERE :

From federal highway, exit at JALAN TENGKU AMPUAN RAHIMAH after toll. Take 3 o'clock at the roundabout. Just go straight, you will pass Selangor Medical Centre on your right, proceed, pass by PROTON, until you see a T junction. Turn RIGHT to Seksyen 27 (Left is to Puchong n others). Pass by SHELL n PETRONAS on your left. Take 3 o'clock again at the roundabout (ada kilang SHARP kat situ). Go straight, you will find KFC on your left. Slightly after that, take junction to RIGHT. Just go straight until you see a mini van (white colour) and a burger stall. It opens daily EXCEPT FOR MONDAY, after Maghrib until habis.

p/s : I know a pilot who will straight head to this spot after touch down kat KLIA (hehehe!!!)

The next best Kuay Teow I've tasted is at McDota Restaurant in Sungai Petani. Ni restaurant standard, delicious. Lama tak pergi. When I was working in SP n staying with my parents, mom had a "cooking for dinner" roaster for me. Kesian kat babah, every Mondays n Wednesdays, kalau tak McDonald mesti lah Kuay Teow McDota is on for dinner... ( order saje, hehehe..)

3rd ranking will be at HILLSIDE bukit antarabangsa. Expensive (RM6.50) for a plate of Kuay Teow, but if you go to the restaurant, u will know why.

Okay, that is all for my 1st episode. Already feeling very hungry, am going for kuay teow tonight with my friend (IF he leaves his office lah... LAPAR!!!!)

MY CHANNEL 11 POINT 5

Why do people blog? Well, I guess for various reasons.

Why do I want to have my own blog? Hmmm… entah. Hehehe.

Channel 11 point 5 will share my personal experience while I travel. A group of my friends used to have a website on their traveling experience, but somehow the site is no longer active. But they did list out lots of interesting places (KAKI JALAN pun diorang tu!) and very good tips while traveling.

I hope everyone who visits this site will enjoy it and get new info out of it.
