DISCOVER DUBAI
Last night I dreamt of this place. Tak tau kenapa, tetiba ja mimpi pasal tempat ni. Been there in April 2004 with mama & babah. 5 days kat sana rasa tak cukup, duit pun tak cukup sbb habis shopping. Kalau sape2 ada rezeki lebih, I recommend this place. Actually, Dubai takde apa la sangat. Population pun, berapa kerat ja the locals, ramai lagi expats kat sana, inclusive our Malaysians working there - yes, you make money working in Dubai! But sementara dia tgh boom ni, baik pergi. I figure in 5 years, this place will be very very expensive!
Places of interest to visit :
- Burj Al Arab (7 star hotel with the world’s tallest atrium)
- Jumeirah Beach
- Jumeirah Mosque
- Dubai Museum
- Spice and Gold Souq
- City Centre Mall
- Bur Juma Shopping Centre
- Take the abra ride (water taxi for 50cents only)
Don't forget to go for the Desert Safari. Experience the once in a lifetime desert adventure. Drive miles and miles of golden sand like riding a roller coaster. Pass Bedouin villages, watch the spectacular sun setting in the dunes and go on a camel ride. The barbeque dinner with an exotic belly dancer to entertain you while you dine under the desert stars is interesting.
Tapi most important activity : SHOPPING. Jangan cakap ladies ja, my father pun crazy shopping when he was there (although he didn't buy much things for himself, but I remembered he bought lots for his friends & relatives, & his cucu!) You can bargain if you go to the bazaar. Kat Shopping Mall pun boleh bargain jugak in certain shops. We brought back so many things, nasib baik bawak extra bag kosong. Kain la memang heaven shopping kat sana. I still have some materials tak buat2 baju lagi. Next year raya la kut.
They use US dollars & their Dirhams. Accommodation wise, you can get 3 star hotel at USD55.00 a night. Currently I recommend Riviera Hotel (stayed there when I went last year!) or Lotus Boutique Hotel.
Food - semua ada la. But Arabs makan byk. We ordered 2 dish, for 3 people makan, but actually can eat for 5 people. I tried all the exotic food with Babah. Mama was more on the shopping.
Hmm... but last night was only a dream. Tak tau la bila lagi boleh pegi this place!
